ABOUT THE ARTIST

 I’m Kathryn Taylor, a Canadian watercolour artist creating original paintings and fine art prints inspired by stillness, nature, and quiet beauty. 

My work is rooted in observation and emotion — from soft winter landscapes and delicate wildlife to expressive portraits that explore presence and human connection. Each painting begins with a feeling, often something subtle: a shift in light, a quiet glance, or a moment that invites reflection.

Working primarily in watercolour, I use layered techniques and archival-quality materials to create depth, softness, and atmosphere. I am drawn to the balance between control and fluidity — allowing the medium to guide the process while shaping each piece with intention and care.

Many of my collections, including Children of Africa, are deeply personal. Through these works, I aim to honour dignity, resilience, and the emotional depth that connects us across cultures and experiences.

In addition to original paintings, I offer fine art prints and watercolour greeting cards, making my work accessible for those who wish to bring a sense of calm, warmth, and connection into their homes.

From my studio in Canada, each piece is thoughtfully created and carefully prepared, with the hope that it resonates beyond the surface — offering not just an image, but a feeling.
